Sooooo it’s been awhile since I’ve been able to write a blog (complications in health in my family) so my blog may be a little dated! I really enjoy that we are going to be interacting with our writing partners, especially since they are in high school. Also, it’s great to see that they seem to be just as enthusiastic about the partnership as we are. I am not personally in practicum yet so I think it’s a great experience to be working alongside these students and being able to get a feel for how they write, think, and comment on other writings they are presented with.
I really enjoyed being able to see their Facebook templates and seeing exactly what they decided to include about themselves and what they thought would be beneficial for me to know. I am looking forward to continuing this project and seeing where it is going to progress.
I'm excited for this partnership as well- it's exciting to be involved with this one on one writing connection between students around the age we will be teaching. It should provide an insight into what I have to look forward to
ReplyDeleteThe partnership is fun! I really enjoyed reading the student's work this week, and I also like that we are doing the same writing prompts as it creates a parallel in our work. I hope your family member is feeling better!

ReplyDeleteI also really like the partnership. It's fun to see how the relationship progresses through writing--something that doesn't often happen in today's society. I think my student is opening up a bit, which is exciting for me. Hopefully everything will continue to go well!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I love seeing how they seem to really be into it, I wouldn't expect that they would be so happy to talk to a college student, I don't know that I would have at their age. I'm finding myself looking forward to it more with each exchange.
ReplyDeleteI have two of the kids, and they're both great! They seem to be so into it, and they just seem so... enthusiastic, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteI also agree that this is a nice way to ease into the relationship with kids. It isn't too imtiidating at first, because you meet via your writing, but at the same time it will give you an in depth relationship with one or two students. Very nice excercise.
ReplyDeleteI think the whole facebook introduction was perfect for this type of project. This kind of social networking is such a huge way to reach people now! It's great to use something authentically inspired to start a writing relationship!
